A friendly football match organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan was held in Kuala Lumpur

On February 5, 2025, a friendly football match was held in Kuala Lumpur, organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Malaysia and dedicated to the declaration of 2025 as the “International Year of Peace and Trust”.

The event was attended by Members of the Malaysian Parliament, heads of diplomatic missions in Malaysia and mass media representatives.

During the friendly match, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Malaysia M. Mashalov, deputies of the Malaysian Parliament, as well as heads of diplomatic missions accredited in the country gave speeches.

In his address, Ambassador M. Mashalov drew the attention to the Concept of the Activities and Priorities of Turkmenistan within the Framework of the International Year of Peace and Trust aimed at specific activities and events proposed by Turkmenistan in the International Year of Peace and Trust. In this regard, special attention was paid to the International Forum to be hosted by Ashgabat in December of this year dedicated to the 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan.

In their speeches, the participants of the sport event noted that the unanimous adoption by the UN General Assembly of the Resolution declaring 2025 as the “International Year of Peace and Trust” initiated by Turkmenistan serves as a clear proof of recognition of Turkmenistan’s activities aimed at ensuring universal peace and sustainable development.

A friendly football match between the Members of the Malaysian Parliament and heads of diplomatic missions in Malaysia resulted with a score of 5:3 in favor of the diplomatic corps.

At the end of the friendly game, the participants received specially designed sport uniforms with the symbols of the year as a gift from the Embassy. Also, Turkmen cuisine treats were offered during the event.
