Turkmenistan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs met with Turkmen students studying in the Republic of Korea
On 7 April 2026, as part of a working visit to the Republic of Korea, Turkmenistan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, A. Gurbanov, met with Turkmen students studying at higher education institutions in the Republic of Korea. The event was aimed at familiarising them with their living and study conditions, as well as informing them about the large-scale reforms taking place in Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, participants were provided with detailed information on key political developments taking place in the country. Particular attention was paid to the significance of the 2026 motto: ‘Independent, permanently neutral Turkmenistan – the homeland of determined winged steeds’.
It was also emphasised that relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea are reaching a qualitatively new level. In this regard, the students were told about the first ‘Central Asia – Republic of Korea’ Summit, which is planned to be held in September 2026 in the Republic of Korea, as well as about the upcoming visit of the President of Turkmenistan to that country. It was noted that this high-level meeting would contribute to the further strengthening of political, economic and cultural-humanitarian cooperation between the two states.
It was emphasised that the state places great trust in young people and creates all the necessary conditions for them to receive a modern education. The Deputy Minister also enquired about the students’ academic performance and their living conditions.
The meeting concluded with an exchange of views, during which participants received answers to their questions.
