Turkmenistan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs met with the Commissioner of the Republic of Korea’s Immigration Service

On 7 April 2026, a meeting took place between a Turkmenistan delegation led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs A. Gurbanov and the Commissioner of the Republic of Korea’s Immigration Service, Mr Cha Yeon-ho. During the talks, which took place in a constructive and businesslike atmosphere, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation between the two countries in the field of migration and consular affairs.

During the meeting, the Turkmen side put forward a number of proposals aimed at ensuring favourable conditions for mutual travel by citizens of both countries, as well as the reliable protection of their rights and legitimate interests.

Particular attention was paid to issues concerning the improvement of the legal framework for bilateral cooperation in the field of migration.

Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in continuing the constructive dialogue, noting that its development serves the interests of both states and is in keeping with the high level of bilateral relations.
