On May 5, 2026, the prestigious international forum “Yerevan Dialogue 2026” began in Yerevan. A delegation from Turkmenistan, led by Turkmenistan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Gurbanov, is participating in the forum.

During his speech, the head of the Turkmen delegation noted that Turkmenistan is actively strengthening the foundation of its energy sector through large-scale modernization of the system, improving energy efficiency, and consistently reducing emissions. Particular attention was paid to the phased expansion of renewable energy sources (RES) while maintaining the country’s economic stability and social well-being.

It was noted that Turkmenistan has already taken concrete steps to create a favorable environment for the “green” energy transition.

It was emphasized that the sector’s environmental transformation is directly linked to ensuring energy security, adapting the labor market, and promoting balanced regional development. Key priorities identified include ensuring an uninterrupted energy supply to the population, training qualified personnel in new fields, and ensuring equal access for all communities to the benefits of attracted investments.

The speech emphasized the importance of constructive international cooperation for the implementation of national plans. It was noted that close cooperation with such authoritative partners as the UN and international financial institutions serves as a clear example of the effectiveness of external support.

The forum continues.
