On 3 June 2026, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, met with the Executive Director of the U.S.–Turkmenistan Business Council, Eric Stewart, who arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit leading a representative delegation of U.S. companies.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the activities of the U.S.–Turkmenistan Business Council as an effective platform for strengthening business ties and expanding cooperation between representatives of the public and private sectors of the two countries.

The participants noted the positive outcomes of the roundtable meeting of the Council’s representatives held earlier that day in Ashgabat, which was attended by representatives of nearly ten U.S. companies, including Climate Compass, John Deere, Westport Trading, and others. The Turkmen side at the roundtable was headed by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan N. Atagulyyev.

Particular emphasis was placed on the Council’s role in strengthening bilateral relations and promoting mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United States of America.

The parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in further expanding partnership across key sectors of the economy, including transport and logistics, energy, oil and gas, agriculture, and other areas.

On the same day, representatives of the U.S.–Turkmenistan Business Council held a number of bilateral meetings at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.
