A MEETING WITH THE ADJUTANT GENERAL OF THE STATE OF MONTANA ON MILITARY ISSUES WAS HELD AT THE MFA OF TURKMENISTAN

On September 25, 2022, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R. Meredov met with Major General, Adjutant General of the State of Montana, Commander of the Montana National Guard and Director of the Montana Department of Military Affairs John P. Chronek at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The parties discussed the resumption of the Partnership Program between the US Central Command, the US National Guard Bureau and the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan. This Program has resulted in a number of productive exchanges, trainings and initiatives implemented by the Nevada National Guard.

The parties also discussed cooperation between the military departments of the two countries in such areas as response and elimination of the consequences of natural disasters and emergencies; cyber protection and security, engineering and construction activities, etc. Every year, as part of the annual cooperation program, a number of events and trainings were held with the participation of American and Turkmen specialists both in Ashgabat and outside Turkmenistan.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further develop and strengthen military cooperation with the United States in accordance with the norms of the Constitution of Turkmenistan, the policy of the Constitutional Law of Turkmenistan “On the permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan” and the military doctrine of the country.
