Meeting with the Director of the Central Asian Department of the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs of the US Department of State

On October 22, 2024, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan A.Gurbanov and Director of the Central Asian Department of the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs of the US Department of State Mark Cameron.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the current state and prospects of bilateral Turkmen-American cooperation.

Along with political cooperation, trade and economic ties, climate change, in particular cooperation in reducing methane emissions, and the humanitarian vector were identified among the priority areas of bilateral partnership.

At the end of the meeting, the interlocutors emphasized the importance of building up a mutually beneficial constructive dialogue between Turkmenistan and the United States, based on the principles of mutual respect and trust.
