Newly appointed Ambassador of Uzbekistan presented copies of his credentials to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan
On 2 December 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan Ravshanbek Alimov, who presented copies of his credentials.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment to the responsible post and expressed Turkmenistan’s readiness to render assistance and support to him in his diplomatic work.
At the beginning of the conversation, the participants underlined the high level of interstate dialogue due to the political will of the Esteemed President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, National Leader of Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Esteemed Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Esteemed President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
It was emphasized that the countries demonstrate closeness of positions on key aspects of the regional and global agenda, as well as reciprocally support proposals put forward within the UN and other international structures.
As it was noted, trade and economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan has been consistently developing. It was emphasized that there is a significant potential for bilateral business contacts. At the same time, the diplomats highlighted the effectiveness of direct ties between the regions of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. In this regard, the importance of the Second Turkmen-Uzbek Interregional Forum and the National Exhibition of Uzbek goods recently held in Turkmenabad was highlighted.
Having underlined the humanitarian partnership based on the spiritual and cultural values that have always united the two peoples, the interlocutors reaffirmed that this vector is a key factor in the accelerated development of interstate relations. Positive experience has been accumulated in this field due to which the bilateral dialogue has significantly strengthened.
