On the meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China
On 28 April 2026, a meeting took place between Rashid Meredov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, and Ji Shumin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Turkmenistan, during which issues related to the practical implementation of agreements reached at the state and government levels in March and April of this year were discussed.
In particular, it was emphasised that, whilst reviewing the prospects for cooperation between Turkmenistan and the PRC, priorities for bilateral partnership had been identified in the gas sector, in the field of transport and logistics, and in the production of mineral fertilisers.
In this regard, the diplomats exchanged views on the forms and content of forthcoming joint work aimed at implementing projects in the aforementioned areas.
At the same time, the high importance of cooperation in the social sphere was noted, primarily in areas such as education, science and medicine.
The parties agreed to continue political and diplomatic dialogue on the implementation of the instructions of the leadership of both countries on a regular and systematic basis.
