CULTURAL DAYS OF TURKMENISTAN IN MALAYSIA

On December 18, 2015 a solemn ceremony of the Days of the Culture of Turkmenistan was held in the Center of celebrations of the City Hall of Kuala Lumpur. This event was held in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Neutrality of Turkmenistan and the announcement of 2015 as the "Year of Neutrality and Peace".

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Malaysian government, heads of diplomatic missions accredited in the country, representatives of the creative unions, Turkmen students studying in higher educational institutions of Malaysia, representatives of the media.

Officials who have delivered the speeches at the opening ceremony talked about the importance of cultural relations and the fact that they are one of the important areas of international cooperation. Also, speakers stressed that the Days of Culture will make a significant contribution to the rapprochement of the two peoples, to the exchange of experience between representatives of culture and art, as well as to the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Malaysia.

The real decoration of the program of the evening was a great concert of masters of arts of Turkmenistan, which have shown samples of national music and song heritage, classical opera arias, the art of dance and pop music.

Also, in the lobby of the Center of celebrations of the City Hall, an exhibition of arts and crafts, national jewelry, Turkmen carpets, and museum values Turkmenistan had been organized by the Main National Museum of Turkmenistan. In addition, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Malaysia hosted a holiday reception in honor of the 20th anniversary of the Neutrality of Turkmenistan and the Days of Culture in Malaysia.

Within the framework of the Days of Culture, delegation from Turkmenistan held an introductory meeting with the representatives of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture of Malaysia. The sides discussed a number of tasks related to the issues of further expansion and development of bilateral cooperation in the field of culture.
