The working visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the People's Republic of China has begun

On August 31, 2025, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov left for a working visit to the People's Republic of China to participate in the Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and celebrations dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in World War II. At the Ashgabat International Airport, the Head of state was seen off by officials of the country.

Turkmenistan's cooperation with the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is becoming increasingly important in strengthening regional security and developing economic and cultural ties. Partnership with the SCO member states in various formats helps strengthen Turkmenistan's position in the international arena and develop mutually beneficial ties with neighboring states.

...The airplane of the President of Turkmenistan landed at the Tianjin International Airport, decorated with the national flags of the two countries. A guard of honor was lined up here in honor of the distinguished guest.

The Head of Turkmenistan was warmly welcomed by officials of the People's Republic of China and members of the official delegation of Turkmenistan.

From the airport, the President of Turkmenistan proceeded to the residence allocated for the visit.

In the afternoon, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov visited the Meijiang Exhibition and Conference Center.

In the foyer of the Center, the President of Turkmenistan was warmly welcomed by the Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping and his wife, and a joint photo was taken.

After the ceremony of taking a group photo of the heads of delegations participating in the Summit, a dinner was given here in honor of the distinguished guests on behalf of the Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan.
