Futsal Tournament organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Malaysia

As the month of the mass athletic, sports, social and cultural events passes in Turkmenistan from April 5 to May 5, under the motto “Health and Happiness”, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Malaysia organized its own sports day to pass on the legacy to Turkmenistan citizens in Malaysia. On April 21, 2018, sports teams consisting of the students studying, citizens working and living in Malaysia, as well as the officials from Malaysian government, took part in the Futsal Tournament 2018.

Before the start of this sports tournament, participants were briefed about the work carried out in Turkmenistan in the connection with the announcement of the year “2018 - Turkmenistan - the heart of the Great Silk Road" and official year motto “Health and Happiness”. In particular, H.E. Ambassador of Turkmenistan informed the participants about the adoption of the resolution "World Bicycle Day" initiated by Turkmenistan at the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly.

Sports is an important instrument to promote healthy lifestyle to the young generation, as it also plays an vital role in Turkmenistan's social policy envisioned at elevating the standard of living of the nation and bringing up mentally, physically and ethically strong generation.

Among the four teams participating in the tournament, the two finalist teams, Turkmen students and Malaysian diplomats, were in the battle for the first place. Nevertheless, friendly atmosphere and high sportsmanship never let the teams down to enjoy the game.

At the end of the tournament, all participants of the sports event were awarded memorable gifts - special jerseys with Turkmen emblem design and “2018 – Turkmenistan Heart of the Great Silk Road” logo, as well as, Turkmenistan designed stationary items. Partakers of the event conveyed their gratitude to the organizers of the tournament and expressed strong interest in the future forthcoming sports events.
