Telephone conversation between the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan and the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation

On June 29, 2025, a telephone conversation took place between the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko.
The Speaker of the upper house of the Russian Parliament warmly congratulated the National Leader of the Turkmen people on his birthday, wishing him good health, long life and new successes in responsible government activities. Noting the merits of the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan in the development of Russian-Turkmen relations, Valentina Matvienko conveyed warm greetings, as well as wishes of success and prosperity from President Vladimir Putin to the National Leader of the Turkmen people and the head of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Thanking for the kind words and best wishes to the President of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan emphasized the great contribution of Valentina Matvienko, as a long-time and true friend of our country, to strengthening the interstate dialogue.
As noted during the conversation, today relations between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation have the character of an in-depth strategic partnership. These relations, based on strong traditions of friendship and mutual respect, are developing across the entire spectrum through constructive meetings and negotiations.
According to the unanimous opinion of the interlocutors, the main factor in the expansion of Turkmen-Russian relations is an open, constructive and friendly dialogue established at the highest state level.
Currently, a constructive political dialogue is maintained between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation, including multifaceted cooperation between ministries and departments. Interparliamentary cooperation is actively continuing, and consultations between the foreign ministries are regularly held. In addition, Turkmen-Russian trade and economic ties are developing at a steady pace, and cooperation in cultural, scientific and humanitarian fields is strengthening.
In this regard, the interlocutors stressed the importance of successful and consistent continuation of constructive interstate relations in the interests of the friendly peoples of the two countries.
At the end of the telephone conversation, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko exchanged wishes of good health and success in responsible government activities, as well as well-being and prosperity to the friendly peoples of Turkmenistan and Russia.
