Mosque will be built in Fizuli city with the support of the Charity Fund for Providing Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov
During the visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Azerbaijan, a ceremony was held to lay the foundation of a mosque that will be built in the city of Fizuli as a gift from Turkmenistan to the people of Azerbaijan.
Thus, upon completion of the XII Summit of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States in Qabala on October 7, 2025, the heads of delegations took part in the ceremony through videoconferencing.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed his sincere gratitude to Hero-Arkadag and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, as well as to the Turkmen people for this noble deed.
Addressing the participants of the ceremony, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that this day would become a historic event, emphasizing that Turkmen people consider the construction of roads, bridges, and mosques as a sacred deed.
May the Almighty accept the prayers that will be recited in this mosque! – said Hero-Arkadag at the end of his speech.
From the site where the foundation of the mosque was laid down, the muftis of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan recited verses from the Quran and offered prayers to the Almighty for prosperity.
Then the heads of the delegations simultaneously touched the screen, symbolizing the start of construction of the mosque. With applauses, a capsule with an honouring writing was laid in the foundation of the mosque.
During the ceremony, videos about the new mosque were demonstrated.
Upon the instructions of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, the construction of this mosque will be carried with the support of the Charity Fund for Providing Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
