The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Latvia has been accredited in Turkmenistan

On December 11, 2025, on the instructions of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Chairperson of the Mejlis D. Gulmanova received credentials from the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to Turkmenistan Girts Jaunzems.

On behalf of the Head of state, the head of the national Parliament congratulated the guest on his appointment to the high diplomatic post, wishing him success in strengthening the ties of friendship between the two peoples and intensifying interstate cooperation.

Thanking for the good wishes, the Ambassador conveyed sincere greetings from the leadership of the Republic of Latvia to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and assured him that he would make every effort to strengthen Turkmen-Latvian cooperation for the benefit of both countries.

During the conversation, the diplomat was briefed in detail on the main directions of Turkmenistan's domestic and foreign policy. Particular emphasis was placed on the implementation of large-scale socio-economic reforms and state programs under the leadership of the Turkmen leader, aimed at steadily improving the standard of living of the Turkmen people.

During the constructive meeting, an exchange of views took place on various aspects of cooperation based on the principles of equality and mutual benefit. The Ambassador was also briefed on the structure and legislative work of the Turkmen Parliament.

At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to Turkmenistan Girts Jaunzems assured that he would make every effort to further strengthen interstate relations.
