TURKMENISTAN AND BAHRAIN REITERATED THEIR ADHERENCE TO FURTHER WIDENING OF RELATIONS ON A WIDE SCOPE
On the 16th of March 2019, Turkmen-Bahraini business forum started its work in Ashgabat. To attend this event, a reputable delegation consisting of the representatives of business structures of the Kingdom of Bahrain arrived to Turkmenistan. The heads and representatives of the ministries and agencies, as well as the organizations and companies of private sector of Turkmenistan and Bahrain participated in the business forum.
In their introductory speeches, the Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan A. Ishanov and the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism of the Kingdom of Bahrain Zayed R. Al Zayani noted the presence of vast potential for the development of trade-economic relations between Turkmenistan and Bahrain.
Representing the Turkmen side, the heads of the State Concern “Turkmengas,” Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan, as well as the chiefs of the Chamber of Trade and Commerce and the State Bank for Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan gave speeches during the forum. From the Bahraini side, the speeches were given by the heads of the National Oil and Gas Authority, National Gas Company, Ministry of Electricity and Water Resources, as well as the chiefs of the Chamber of Trade and Commerce and the Central Bank of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
In their speeches, the parties thoroughly reflected the priority directions of cooperation, particularly in the areas of oil and gas, construction, transport and communications, banking and food industry. It was also noted that the fuel-energy and reprocessing capacities possessed by Turkmenistan and Bahrain, as well as their favorable geographic locations serve as a suitable platform for widening bilateral and regional cooperation. Upon completion of their addresses, the parties signed a number of bilateral documents.
A number of bilateral meetings between the representatives of business circles of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the representatives of pertinent state and private agencies of Turkmenistan are planned to be held tomorrow, on March 17.
