PRIME MINISTER OF MALAYSIA CONCLUDED HIS OFFICIAL VISIT TO TURKMENISTAN

On June 10, 2014 in the morning, after the official welcoming ceremony and photographing on the background of the national flags of the two countries in the Presidential palace complex "Oguzhan", President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held negotiations with the Prime Minister of Malaysia Mohd Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak.             

During the talks that passed in the atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding, the sides discussed the present state and perspectives of Turkmen-Malaysian cooperation as well as the important issues of regional and international policy that were of mutual interest.

After the negotiations in "Seljuk Khan" hall there was the ceremony of signing bilateral documents. President of Turkmenistan and Prime Minister of Malaysia signed the Joint Turkmen-Malaysian Communiqué. The Protocol of full powers of Turkmen-Malaysian Committee on trade between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of Malaysia; Agreement between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of Malaysia on cooperation in the field of culture; Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of Malaysia on cooperation in the field of higher education; Memorandum of long-term cooperation in the oil and gas industry were signed as well.
Upon completion of the signing ceremony, President of Turkmenistan and Prime Minister of Malaysia addressed with their statements to the press.

In the afternoon, Prime Minister of Malaysia Mohd Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak laid flowers at the Monument of Constitution and planted  a young tree at the honorary guests’ alley. In the evening at the official dinner in honor of the distinguished guest, President of Turkmenistan and Prime Minister of Malaysia exchanged speeches.

At the end of the official reception the Turkmen leader and head of the Malaysian government warmly said goodbye to each other. Then the Prime Minister of Malaysia headed to Ashgabat International Airport, from where he left home.
