Talks with the delegation of the European Parliament were held at the MFA of Turkmenistan
On February 25, 2025, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with the delegation of the European Parliament headed by Ms. Giuseppina Princi, Head of the Delegation for relations with Central Asia.
During the talks, the sides highly appraised the cooperation of Turkmenistan with the European Parliament.
It was noted that on this day the 8th meeting between representatives of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and the European Parliament was constructively held.
The policy of positive neutrality of Turkmenistan was highly appraised, which is reflected in effective actions aimed at strengthening stability and security, unfolding the energy and transport potential for the benefit of sustainable development in the region and beyond.
In addition, the delegation of the European Parliament emphasized reforms within the country, including in the area of human rights protection, gender equality and support for civil society organizations.
The parties also discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the European Union. In this regard, the importance of the current visit of the European delegation to Turkmenistan was highlighted, considering the ongoing and planned events for this year, declared by the UN General Assembly as the International Year of Peace and Trust.
The Turkmen side also confirmed its commitment to developing multifaceted cooperation with the European Union both on a bilateral basis and within the framework of the «EU-Central Asia» format.
The delegation of the European Parliament will also hold a number of meetings in the ministries and departments of Turkmenistan.
