On March 29, 2026, a celebration was held to mark the fifth anniversary of the establishment of the Charity Fund for Providing Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

As is known, in accordance with the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan dated March 29, 2021, a Charity Fund was established to provide assistance to children in need of care.

At the beginning of the ceremony, a congratulatory address from President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the participants was read.

During the event, a Decree of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov was read on awarding state awards of Turkmenistan to individuals who have demonstrated active participation in the development of charitable initiatives.

In a ceremonial setting, O.Atabaeva, Vice President for Medical Activities of the Charity Fund for Providing Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, presented Arkadag medals to Narine Saakyan, Permanent Representative of the United Nations Development Programme in Turkmenistan, and Jalpa Ratna, Head of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Representative in Turkmenistan, congratulating them on their well-deserved awards.

UNICEF Representative in Turkmenistan, Jalpa Ratna, warmly congratulated everyone on the 5th anniversary of the Fund's founding. This award inspires further active work to develop effective cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNICEF, the Representative emphasized, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan and the National Leader of the Turkmen People, the Chairperson of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan.

The festive event continued with a speech by Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan D. Gulmanova, who congratulated the National Leader of the Turkmen People, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, and the President of Turkmenistan on the anniversary of the establishment of the Charity Fund for Providing Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, noting that this event has become an important page in the modern history of the Turkmen people and a symbol of the revival of noble traditions.

Then, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers B. Seyidova, warmly congratulating the top leadership of Turkmenistan on the 5th anniversary of the founding of the Charity Fund, emphasized that its activities reflect the centuries-old humanistic values of our people.

UNDP Resident Representative in Turkmenistan Narine Saakyan also congratulated everyone present on this significant occasion, noting that she is very proud to receive the state award as a sign of high trust and recognition.

Furthermore, the signing of Memoranda of Understanding between the Charity Fund for Providing Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the Soong Ching Ling Foundation of China, and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation served as clear evidence of the successful development of international cooperation aimed at ensuring the harmonious development of children.
