Meetings of the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan with the Top Leadership of Georgia

On February 24, 2026, as part of an official visit to Tbilisi, the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova was received by the President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili.

At the beginning of the meeting, the head of the Mejlis conveyed to the President of Georgia warm greetings and best wishes on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

During the conversation, the parties discussed current areas of bilateral cooperation in the political, economic, and humanitarian spheres. Special attention was paid to close interaction within the UN and other international organizations, where the countries provide regular support for each other’s constructive initiatives.

In this regard, it was emphasized that official visits and inter-parliamentary dialogue serve as a key factor in strengthening the strategic partnership.

On the same day, a meeting was held between the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze. At the beginning, D. Gulmanova conveyed greetings from the Top Leadership of Turkmenistan to the head of the Georgian government.

Within the framework of the negotiations, a detailed analysis of the current state and prospects of Turkmen-Georgian cooperation was conducted, with an emphasis on the development of trade-economic ties and cultural-humanitarian exchange.

The interlocutors stated that the strengthening of inter-parliamentary relations serves as a reliable basis for the intensification of interstate relations and the maintenance of an open, trusting dialogue.

Concluding the series of meetings, the parties expressed a firm commitment to the further expansion of a multifaceted partnership based on the principles of mutual respect and confirmed their readiness to implement new joint initiatives for the benefit of the peoples of the two friendly countries.
